The science of aromatics

The Aromatic Producers Association (APA) is committed to improving the scientific understanding of its products, so as to address the human and environmental concerns that are sometimes associated with these products in a comprehensive and rational manner.APA's commitment to a science programme goes beyond any legal obligation. It arises from the industry's desire to ensure that its products are manufactured, supplied and used safely.
APA is committed to share the findings of its programme with its customers, regulators and the public, because the industry believes that the content and findings of the programme should be available to all those with an interest in aromatic substances.

The science programme has been developed to address potential concerns relating to aromatic substances, to identify where any human or environmental risks may arise, and to provide supporting data to demonstrate that risks are satisfactorily managed. In undertaking the programme, the industry subscribes to accepted principles of data independence and integrity.
